I grew up steeped in, and in awe of, our nations history. My family history includes men who are my personal heroes, one of which was very decorated by this country. My Grandfather, a farm boy from Mahtowa, Minnesota, saved his plane, and more importantly his crew, by doing something that many thought impossible.
Do You Want to be Part of a Cult of Apathy, Ignorance and Indifference?
So who am I to sit here on my throne and dispair thinking my voice won’t matter. It’s impossible to be heard.
Screw that notion.
I love this country. I always have. I remember clearly being moved to tears at a very young age by the national anthem, Ronald Reagan’s absolute belief in hope and our shared human spirit, and that folded flag being handed off to the family in silence that is complete.
I used to believe that we were always the good guys. That belief has been tested. The Clintons, Bush losing WMDs, 911, Obama having a beer summit, now the Biden shit show. Say what you want about Trump but he was an outsider and boy did he piss off the establishment.
We The People are still the good guys. Our elected officials all come from the same politically and sometimes literally incestual pool. They have taken advantage of the trusting nature of We who are inherently good. They’ve used us to enrich themselves and cheapened the deeds of true and noble men.
We The People are at a crossroads. I compare the situation we are in somewhat akin to the Catholic Church. The congregation is in general good and devoted to living a life in the light.
The day that congregation comes to church and sits there in prayer KNOWING full well the priest giving the sermon is molesting kids and DOESN’T storm the pulpit and rip his head off is the day the light goes out.
The silent majority shit needs to be over. No more good guy. Meet insanity with reason, hysteria with calm, hate with love…but injustice…Meet that with a fist.
No more
I love you America.
